Stay friends like Lenny and Dawn

It’s great that Dawn French and Lenny Henry have remained on good terms since their break-up.

They announced the split three months ago, having kept it under wraps since last October.

“Remarkably, we seem to have shifted with relative ease from a 25- year marriage to a lasting friendship. I am amazed by us – there is no war, we have turned out to be the best of friends,” Dawn told Radio Times.

This must be a great comfort to their 18-year-old daughter Billie who won’t have to endure her parents sniping at each other, point- scoring or having bitter rows.

As a divorcee myself, I wish more couples could take this approach – not just for the kids’ sake but for their own, too.
